What you can look forward to

Enviroment

The first thing you will notice is the environment at the barn. The people are welcoming, kind, and encouraging. We have worked hard to create a barn family and I believe we have been successful in creating a safe place to learn, live, and breath. We truly can boast in a serious lack of drama. We all come and linger because when you are surrounded by happy horses, wonderful people, and a beautiful place... why not stay awhile.

Happy Horses

Our ultimate goal is to create a space where the partnership between horse and rider can be fully recognized. Happy and healthy horses are the foundation to that. Our clients comment that their horses have moved in and calmed down, a noticeable decrease in anxiety and naughty behavior. We also have had hard keeper horses start to immediately gain weight and dull coats start to shine. Often you can look out over the pasture and see a fabulous representation of herd dynamics as several horses will be sprawled out snoozing and one or two friends will be watching their back.

Amenities

We have a selection of stalls, some are oversized and some have runs. We try to match the horse to the stall that suits them and keeps them happiest. Weather permitting, we also have several pastures available for grazing. Our dry lots all have shelters and we are slowly adding pole peelings and gravel to assist in keeping the mud at bay.  Our large arena is graded to assist in quick drainage and the footing does not get slippery when wet. We do have access to an indoor down the road which is fabulously well lit and has wonderful footing. We have a heated tack room with individual tack lockers, a heated wash rack, trailer parking, blanket express, and are working out a storage area for clients to keep blankets and trunks on site.

Care

This is a full care facility where we plan the horses care around what is most natural for them and achievable for us. Horses receive all day turnout and are only brought in early if weather is nasty. We feed up to 20lbs of hay daily in slow feeding hay nets. Hay can be soaked as needed or requested. Grain is fed once to twice daily pending the requirements for your specific horse. Stalls are cleaned daily and new shavings are added as needed. Waters are kept clean and filled. We work closely with farriers, massage therapists, vets, and nutritionists to make sure that all aspects of the horses care are covered. Each horse is unique and we try to cater to meet their needs. This pushes us to keep making improvements, keep learning, and keep moving to meet their needs above and beyond the bare minimum.

Extra

We also have a composting system for our manure which we sell. All the manure is managed to reach appropriate temperatures to kill any bacteria. It is turned appropriately and allowed to sit for 3 to 6 months. By the time it is done it is a beautiful black color with a wonderful earthy smell and practically oozing worms. We have had many return customers using it refresh their current gardens or fill their raised beds.

We sell by the tractor scoop, not by the truck bed load. Each scoop is $5 and after 5 scoops you get the 6th one for free. Let us know if you are interested in picking any up.

“If training has not made a horse more beautiful, nobler in carriage, more attentive in his behavior, revealing pleasure in his own accomplishment...then he has not truly been schooled in dressage.” (Col. Handler – Spanish Riding School)
